They are laws that are sometimes honored more in the breach than in the observance, because many health insurance companies refuse to pay for much or all prescription medicine or therapy for psychological conditions. The laws already on the books require that health insurers put the same limitations on covered treatments for physical conditions that they put on covered treatments for psychological conditions under their coverages.
Now the federal government and in particular the Department of Labor is investigating "anomalies" in the treatment payment schemes, shall we say.
